Hello! We are very happy that you have found our rescue. Here you will find that we have many wonderful dogs that are waiting to fine the forever homes that they deserve! We at One Tail at a Time are a small group of volunteers that are devoted to rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters/pounds before they re scheduled to be euthanized.
We also take in "Owner Surrenders" from time to time depending on our space and availability. All of our rescue dogs are cared for in foster home environments as family members.

The Meaning of Rescue - Author Unknown

Now that I'm home, bathed, settled and fed.
All nicely tucked in my warm new bed,

I'd like to open my baggage, lest I forget,
There is so much to carry - So much to regret.

Hmmm... Yes, there it is, right on the top,
Let's unpack Loneliness, Heartache and Loss,
And there by my perch hides Fear and Shame.

As I look on these things I tried so hard to leave -
I still have to unpack my baggage called Pain.

I loved them, the others, the ones who left me,
But I wasn't good enough - for they didn't want me.

Will you add to my baggage? Will you help me unpack?
Or will you just look at my things - And take me right back?

Do you have the time to help me unpack?
To put away my baggage, to never repack?

I pray that you do - I'm so tired you see,
But I do come with baggage - Will you still want me?

New adoption News!

New Adoption News!

Here at "One Tail at a Time" we have started working on a new idea for our adoption process. If you are visiting our website and do not see a dog that you are interested in adopting, you can still go ahead and fill out an adoption application! All you need to do if put on there what Breed/Sex/Age/Color preferences you have! We will then, process your application as we would do normally and let you know if you are approved to adopt through our rescue or not.

If you ARE approved, you can then be added to our new "Waiting List". What this list does is, serve as a pre-approved list for when we have a new rescue come in, we can go to our pre-approved homes that are waiting and try to find the best match for your home as well as for the rescue dogs we have available.

If there is a match, we will let you know and continue on with the adoption process if you are still interested! So, if you would like to be added to our "waiting list" please go fill out and submit an application today! Thank you so much for your interest in "One Tail at a Time Rescue". We look forward to working with you in finding you your new best friend!
